This quarter we took a look at the new Talon RA International Travel Rod and the new Talon Titanium Blue reels. Barry Ryan was good enough to send a combo down for us to look at in the May Meeting, and people were impressed with the value for money and finish of the products.

The 6 piece travel rods come in 4, 6 and 9 weights and are a fast taper with a great finish. The rods come packed in a tube that has separate compartments for each rod section to ensure that there are no scratches or breakages due to pieces coming in contact with each other. They come with a 5 year manufacturers warranty and the prices start at $300 for the 4weight.

The Titanium Blue reel was very impressive. It was beautifully finished and the drag was one of the smoothest I have felt in a long time, and all this for a retail price of between $204 and $258 (4 weight through to 10 weight).
