Gwandalan gathering

A great day was had by all at the Gwandalan gathering. We set off in light drizzle which lasted for ten minutes and hatched into a blue sky day with light winds.

We paired up – Mal & Col, Bob & Garry, Richie & Ivan, Len & John, Jeff & Simon & me. Mac, Janice & Bently had a late start and put on a excellent BBQ.

Bait schools balled and pushed up against the edge and had me changing to an eye fly in anticipation but to no avail. I noticed Jeff & Simon on an extreme point waist deep and later found out they had success with 3 pike and Tarwhine. Col caught a monster Pike and Malcom a tarwhine.

John caught 2 flathead & a Pinkie and I caught a couple of bream. Rain held off and we left with bue sky and no grey clouds in our heads. Our newest member Bently the blue staffie did seem very excited with Garry Kent and certainly went in for seconds with Jeff who looked like an old friend.

Thanks to Mac & Janice for the barby & Col for organising the event.
